Eva DiMarcantonio

 
Eva DiMarcantonio, 99, of Phillipsburg, NJ, formerly of Linden, NJ, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg, NJ.   She was the widow of the late Alfred DiMarcantonio.

Born in Martins Creek, PA, she was the daughter of the late Guido and Angela (Vanucci) Bartolacci.

She worked for Jones Bookbinder, a division of Mead and Co. for 14 years retiring in 1968.

She was known as the caretaker of the family, always taking care of relatives and their needs.  She enjoyed bingo, going to Atlantic City, and her card club.
She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Linden, NJ

Surviving:  Daughter, Norma Mitchell, wife of William Flannery, Phillipsburg.  Sister,  Dorothy Pulcini, Martins Creek.  Grandchildren, Kim Amato, Chris DiMarcantonio, and Eva Pilot.  Six Great Grandchildren and One Great Great Granddaughter.  She is predeceased by a son, Guido, brothers, Alego, Arlen, and Thomas and Sisters Levia Leone, Lola Crofa and Florence DiMarcantonio.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10:15 AM at the James J. Palmeri Funeral Home, 6602 Alpha Ave., Martins Creek, followed by  a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Rocco’s Catholic Church, Martins Creek. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8:30 PM.  Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Martins Creek, PA.   Online Condolences may be offered at www.palmerifuneralhome.com.

Barbara E. Shoemaker


Barbara E. Shoemaker, 62, of Mt. Bethel died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the VNA Monroe County Hospice, East Stroudsburg, PA.  She was the wife of Leslie Shoemaker.
Born in Newark, NJ she was the daughter of the late Granville Clark and Dorothy (Weigel) Brace.

A graduate of Freehold High School, she spent most of her life as a homemaker.  She was an avid writer of poetry and short stories and had several pieces published.
She and her husband owned and operated Portland Video from 1991 to 1995. 
She was active in civic organizations, including the ARC of the Lehigh Valley and the Bangor Area School District where she served on the PTA and the School Board.
Surviving in addition to her husband are:   Son, Brian and Daughter, Susan, both at home.  Sisters, Madeline, Marion, and Patricia. Brother, Matthew and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the James J. Palmeri Funeral Home, 6602 Alpha Ave., Martins Creek, PA. Visitation one hour prior to services. Interment in Church Hill Cemetery.  Online Condolences may be offered at www.palmerifuneralhome.com.
